Attorney Anthony Farris is a native of Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Youngstown State University before obtaining his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Anthony started his legal career in private practice and eventually became an Assistant Prosecutor for the City of Youngstown. He served as the Chief Assistant Prosecutor and as Deputy Law Director for the City of Youngstown. Attorney Farris became the Law Director for the City of Youngstown. During his tenure he defended the City in various actions including matters before the Ohio Supreme Court.
He ended the early release of Youngstown Municipal prisioners from the county jail. He intervened in a prisoners' class action suit before a federal panel of judges. He negotiated consent decrees and brought an end to federal supervision over jail issues. As Law Director Anthony also implemented the foreclosure bond initiative to prevent the creation of vacant property that was not properly maintained. The vacant property initiative has been used as a model accross the country.
Attorney Farris also served as the Law Director for Cleveland Heights before going into private practice as of counsel with Whalen Duffrin LLC. Anthony has a long history with local government that has made him particularly adept at assisting individuals and small businesses regarding government regulation and government action.
Attorney Farris also has a practice that includes criminal defense, civil rights violation cases, and contract litigation.
